The owner explained that he knew the phones were bad and they were going to be replaced something in the future. I waited 30/45 minutes and it never came back on so I walk back to the office and called. I went to call the number given and the phone died. The cottage was freezing when we arrived, especially the bathroom/kitchen, so once we got the heat going in the fireplace we still needed a space heater. It had tree trunks sticking out everywhere and it was very uneven and hard to walk. The path to out cottage was longer than most and kind of paved with very rough asphalt.
We left after 2 because we could take it any longer. We (my 16 year old son) and I stayed in cottage 14, booked for 7 days. I did find it, but our "note/check-in paperwork" was at the very bottom and hidden by the frame box and I could not see it. Since it was only 3:15pm and the sun was shinning I could not tell if any of the boxes was "illuminated" which I shared with her and she only got madder at me. When the owner answered she ripped my head off for not picking up my "paper in the illuminated box on the left" instead of calling them. When I noticed no one was there I picked up the phone and called. I parked and got out of my car to walk into the office to pick up my key & details as instructed to do by the lovely young women who took my reservation and told me they would be there from 3pm to 6pm and please come by, otherwise if I arrived after 6pm they would leave a notice outside for me. And I only spoke with them twice! The first time was when I arrived. But from the moment we got there, I found the owners to be rude, short tempered, and very unhelpful. The birds prints on the top of the bed were cute as was the prints in the room. The beds were terrible, felt like flat boards as were the pillows. The place was clean, I have to say that, but from that point on, it was SO disappointing.
